So, like in most countries, Idols is quite a big deal in South Africa. The 6th season finished in South Africa late last year and winner Elvis Blue has already gone gold with his debut album. Runner-up, however, L’loyd Cele is planning on hitting the South African music scene is a huge way when his debut album comes out next month. His lead single ‘Thanks To You’ is rapidly rising up the charts and is currently sitting at number 26. I met L’loyd at his first live performance and he has been a favourite of mine ever since. I had the chance to talk to L’loyd recently to see how the transition post Idols has been going.
Idols 2010 runner up L’loyd Cele will be at Wet ‘n Wild on April 25!
Local lad L’loyd has taken time out from a hectic national schedule (which has seen him performing at live events alongside some of SA’s top artists and shooting the music video for his new hit single “Make it Easy”) to make a splash at Wet ‘n Wild on Monday, April 25 at 3pm. He’ll meet and greet local fans, sign autographs and perform a few songs from his newly released album, One.
For him, this is a great opportunity to not only thank everyone for their support over the past year – but to share the great Wet ‘n Wild vibe and have plenty of fun in the sun! Standard park prices apply!

LLoyd To Launch Debut Album
The wait is over for fans of Season VI runner-up Lloyd Cele: his highly anticipated debut album is imminent and fans can be among the first to hear it during a two-day launch in Durban later this month.
Lloyd’s first album is neatly-titled One and will be launched during a two-day celebration at Durban’s King Shaka airport on the 20th and 21st of April. It may be a strange place to spend the eve of the Easter holidays, but it’s a great way to start it!
Fans in KZN (or those passing through the new Durban terminal) will be able to get an autographed copy of the CD and other Easter goodies from 9am until 8pm on these days, while fans who aren’t fortunate enough to be in the area can still get their copies in Look & Listen and Musica stores around the country from the start of the Easter weekend.
There will also be a launch in Cape Town over the same weekend – details are to be confirmed. Keep your eyes on the event page on Facebook for updates.
One is produced by the SAMA-winning Crighton Goodwill and Loyiso Bala (a guest judge in Bloem last season) and features collaborations with the latter and Idols host, ProVerb.
Like the Facebook page and hook up with other Idols fans.
